Michael Jordan is the GOAT for most NBA fans alike. In fact, the majority of basketball players regard him as the greatest player of all time. Each person has a different argument for why they regard Jordan as the GOAT and recently Brooklyn Nets superstar KD listed one of his reasons.

In an interview, the former MVP revealed he believes the absence of social media helped Michael Jordan in becoming a god-like figure for most fans. KD’s point is certainly valid as nowadays, fans can easily keep up with what’s happening in their favorite players’ lives via social media.

But during MJ’s playing days that wasn’t the case. There was a lot of mystery around the lives of players off the court.

Anyway, there will be some that will agree with KD and some who simply won’t. NBA analyst Skip Bayless, like most times, falls in the latter category. The veteran analyst

“KD says MJ benefited greatly from having no social media. I disagree.”

Skip Bayless dropping bold takes is nothing new. In fact, if anything fans Bayless’ Twitter to find these takes. However, this time around, the veteran analyst is completely wrong. According to a report by Basketball Network, Michael Jordan said that he isn’t sure if he could flourish in the Twitter era.

“I don’t know if I could’ve survived in this Twitter [era], where you don’t have the privacy that you’d want and what seems to be very innocent can always be misinterpreted.”

If Jordan himself has revealed this fact, there is no reason to doubt his judgment. Dealing with fans on social media and playing elite basketball are two different things.

Luckily, Jordan’s era wasn’t so heavily influenced by social media. And as for his ability to play elite basketball, his resume is proof of his talent and greatness.
