Stephen Curry spoke in the immediate aftermath of Team USA‘s massive win over Serbia to NBC Sports. Curry noted that his first turn with Team USA at the Olympics has been everything he hoped it would be, despite the challenge. He then claimed that this experience was the most fun he has had playing basketball in a long time.

“This is everything I imagined it to be. Obviously, this is my first go-around in the Olympics. Knew we were going to get challenged by a great Serbian team and, we had to beat them three times this summer – it was going to be tough.”

“I just kinda got lost in the moment of understanding how big this stage is and what’s at stake for this team. And it was special. This is the most fun I’ve had in a very long time. To dig deep like we did with this group and get a win, it’s special.”

Stephen Curry was absolutely phenomenal against France. He put on one of the all-time great Olympic performances, putting up 36 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal, while shooting 12-19 from the field, and 9-14 from the three-point line. It was Curry’s fourth-quarter heroics that sealed the win for Team USA.

Curry had to deliver, especially after his last few performances at the Olympics were forcing people to question his position in the starting lineup. In his first four games at the Olympics, Curry scored just 29 points combined. He outscored his tally from the first four games in tonight’s outing against Serbia

Team USA Primed To Win Gold

Stephen Curry and Team USA will be facing the hosts France in the gold medal game this Saturday. It will be a hostile environment, as many expect the French supporters to pack out the stadium and show support for Victor Wembanyama and the squad. But given the talent roster Team USA has, they will still be the betting favorites heading into the game.

A win on Saturday would give Curry his first-ever Olympic gold medal, as he has never previously represented Team USA at the Olympics. Playing alongside LeBron James and Kevin Durant hasn’t just been a treat for Curry, but also for fans, as people have clamored to see the three defining stars of their era lineup together for quite some time.

Curry will be hoping to replicate his performance from today against France on Saturday. A performance like this from Curry was needed to remind fans why having a player like him in the squad is always beneficial. Despite not playing at his best in the first four games of the tournament, Curry turned it on today when it mattered most, and helped Team USA seal the win and book a spot in the gold medal game.

Playing against France, Team USA will be hoping to silence the vocal French supporters early. Or perhaps, some of the players might thrive on the hostile environment, and even try to egg them on for further motivation. Regardless, it will be a must-win and a must-watch game on Saturday.
