Rivalries are part of what makes the NBA fun, and there’s no doubt that it provides great entertainment for the fans. The history of the NBA is built on rivalries between players and organizations, and the modern era is no different.

Two players that defined the 2010s are LeBron James and Stephen Curry, and the two have developed a friendly rivalry over the years as they faced one another in the Finals. Recently, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr compared their rivalry to Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.

“It’s not quite the same timeline as Magic (Johnson) and (Larry) Bird, but it’s pretty close,” said Steve Kerr per Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

There’s no doubt that this series between the two players was highly anticipated by fans, and that is in part due to their rivalry. Darvin Ham even called it the best rivalry of this generation. A lot of fans will likely follow every minute of this series, and we’ll have to wait to see who prevails.

It’s All Respect Between Stephen Curry And LeBron James

Even though the duo have faced one another a lot, LeBron James and Stephen Curry have the utmost respect for one another. In fact, LeBron James previously opened up on his respect for the point guard, noting that Curry puts the work into the game.

“He puts in the work, and when you put in the work, nine times out of 10 you’re going to see results. He’s done that throughout his whole entire career. I have nothing but the utmost respect for everything he’s been able on the floor not only on the floor, but off the floor, too,” said James. “It’s great to have people like that in this league and set an example for generations to come. We’re two of the most competitive players that have ever played this game and we want to etch our names in the history books as much as we can. … I got nothing but the greatest respect for Steph.”

Stephen Curry has definitely worked his way up to being a superstar, and nobody expected this when he was coming out of Davidson. He has nothing left to prove in the league, and we’ll see just how many championships he can win before he retires. He will have to go through LeBron James for at least one series, and it’ll be an insane feat if he manages to beat the Lakers this season.
