The Boston Celtics Can Have The NBA Dynasty Next Summer

It sure seems like some teams in the NBA keep hitting the jackpot. You’d think that because of the draft lottery process that teams would be good for a few years, then bad for a few years and this cycle would hold true for all teams in the league.

If you’re a Boston Celtics fan that just isn’t the case.

The most storied franchise in the league always seems to be at the forefront of NBA action. They won a title in 2008 and were a great team up until 2014. They only missed the Playoffs once before getting straight back and now once again they have one of the best teams in the league. They have a top 3 coach in Brad Stevens, a superstar in Kyrie Irving and some amazing pieces in Gordon Hayward, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford and Jaylen Brown… and they could be adding more.

Tatum Fultz Rookies

In 2017 the Celtics traded their 1st overall pick to the 76ers in exchange for the 3rd overall pick that year plus a 1st-rounder in 2018 or 2019.

Philadelphia Sixers selected Markelle Fultz, while the Celtics selected Jayson Tatum.

In the 2018 NBA Draft, LA Lakers had a pick between 2 and 5 in 2018 then the Celtics would have received that pick, but they didn’t. Therefore Boston gets Philadelphia’s first-rounder in 2019 or Sacramento’s first-rounder, whichever is better.

Even though Sacramento is currently 6-4 they are projected to have the worst record in the league by ESPN. That means that it is likely that Sacramento will have the highest chance to get the 1st pick in 2019 and if they do it goes to Boston.

Ok, so we now know that Boston has a good chance to get the 1st overall pick in next year’s draft, but what can they do with it? Well, they can draft Zion Williamson from Duke and watch the world explode around them. If this happens they Boston will have Kyrie Irving (if they can keep in him in free agency) and all the other player I mentioned above plus one of the most explosive athletes we’ve seen in a long time on the same squad.

If they can achieve this then the Celtics will surely win multiple titles in the future and add even more banners to the historic rafters of the Boston Garden.

Just think about this; the Celtics could be turning Markelle Fultz into Jayson Tatum and Zion Williamson.
