The WWE matchup didn’t result in any action for the two. However, the stars are bound to collide in the upcoming Knicks-Pacers series. Both Haliburton and Brunson have been incredibly vital in dictating success for their teams in the playoffs.

The Indiana Pacers have been on an absolute tear as they virtually dismantled their opponents in the first two rounds. Coming away with a gentleman’s sweep in both their series thus far, Rick Carlisle’s team has displayed a fundamental brilliance when it comes to executing their strategies.

Haliburton’s ability as a floor general is not to be underestimated in this regard. Ever since the anonymous NBA vote saw the young guard named as the most overrated player in the league, he has been on a mission to prove the naysayers wrong.

The 25-year-old has recorded an average of 17.5 points, 9.3 assists, and 5.5 rebounds on shooting splits of 47.4% FG per game in the postseason. His vision and ability to knock down shots in the clutch have truly been a spectacular sight for fans everywhere.

On the other hand, the New York Knicks have a star of their own in Brunson. Although he doesn’t fit the playmaking archetype like his opponent in Indiana, the Knicks guard brings with him an extensive offensive arsenal that makes him one of the most effective offensive players in the game.

Brunson’s ability to knock down shots and rack up points makes him lethal in the overall scheme of things. His averages of 28.8 points and 7.7 assists on 44.0% FG per game in the postseason have made him a nightmare for opposing defensive units. When additionally considering his late-game heroics, the NBA’s reigning Clutch Player of the Year showcased why he deserved the title in the playoffs.

The clash of the stars has been penciled in to take place on Wednesday, May 21st at 8:00 pm ET. Madison Square Garden saw the first iteration of the showdown when the two met on WWE SmackDown. It is only fitting that Game 1 takes place where it all began.
