During the 2010s, the Golden State Warriors rose to power and dominated the NBA for almost half a decade. The organization played in five consecutive NBA Finals and won three of them. The only time that they lost was against the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and the Toronto Raptors in 2019.

While the 2016 NBA Finals was unarguably a brilliance of LeBron James and the Cavs, the Dubs got unlucky in the 2019 NBA Finals. They battled with several injuries during their 7-game series against the Raptors. Among them was an ACL injury to Klay Thompson.

Following that injury, Klay missed back-to-back seasons and made a comeback last season. He may have won the 2022 NBA Championship. But playing against the Toronto Raptors in Toronto was certainly something Klay was looking forward to.

Klay Thompson’s Preparation To Face The Toronto Raptors

Considering the fact that Thompson suffered against the Raptors in Toronto in 2019, he certainly circled the date of the rematch against them in the calendar. Well, the day finally arrived. Klay and co. didn’t disappoint as they registered a comfortable victory against the Raptors.

Klay recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists for the Dubs in the 126-110 victory. It was an acceptable game. But the main focus was how Thompson prepared himself to face the Raptors before the game started.

In the clip, Klay can be seen mentally preparing himself to play in the arena for the first time since tearing his ACL in 2019. Well, the preparation did the job for him and the Warriors. But even after the win, the Warriors still have a record of 15-16 and hold the 11th seed in the Western Conference.

In the absence of Stephen Curry due to an injury, the Dubs need to play at their absolute best in each game. Otherwise, they should simply rely on finally making a few tough calls and trading for a bunch of players to improve the roster.
