NBA Trade Rumors: Warriors Could Trade Draymond Green For Myles Turner

2 Min Read

The Golden State Warriors may be done for now, but the entire NBA community should fear their return for next season. With Steph and Klay ready to return alongside Andrew Wiggins and head coach Steve Kerr, the Warriors will be back with the Western elite.

As for team GM Bob Meyers, he is considering his options on the trade market. According to Vincent Frank of Sportsnaut, one such option may involve Indiana’s Myles Turner.

“If the Warriors were to move Green and his bloated contract, he would create a nice amount of interest. Despite some struggled [sic] this season, the three-time champ remains a great all-around player. In this deal, the Pacers add another big to go with All-Star center Domantas Sabonis. Green’s passing ability would be huge for both Sabonis and Victor Oladipo. In turn, Golden State picks up a center of the future to pair with Marquese Chriss while adding T.J. McConnell to improve its bench and gaining a first-round pick in 2021 from Indiana.”

As a young and athletic big man, Turner has a lot to offer the Warriors. He has been a key piece of the roster since his arrival in Indiana, averaging 12.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game on 48% shooting.

Not only would his abilities bolster their size and help add some muscle down low, but it might also be a better pairing with Wiggins, who is roughly the same age as Turner.

For Indiana, since they would still have Domantas Sabonis, swapping Turner for Draymond would be an upgrade that might help get them over the top.

We’ll see what both teams have planned soon enough.
