Luka Doncic is one of the best basketball players in the NBA today. He is an elite offensive engine, capable of carrying an entire team by himself. Currently, Luka Doncic is averaging 32.8 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 8.7 APG.

This Christmas, Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are facing off against the Los Angeles Lakers. Ahead of the game, Luka Doncic seemed to be in great spirits, even arriving in a full-on cowboy outfit to the game.

It is clear that Luka Doncic is clearly enjoying his time in Texas and is trying to be somewhat festive for the holidays. Hopefully, he manages to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a win, and they need every win they can get if they are to avoid the play-in tournament and ensure that they make the playoffs outright.

Chauncey Billups Thinks Luka Doncic Is A Generational Talent

Throughout his career, Luka Doncic’s talent has always been extremely evident. Many believe that he can win multiple MVP awards in the future, and he has definitely produced at an MVP level this year. In fact, Chauncey Billups recently claimed that Luka Doncic is one of those “generational talents.”

“You double team him, he’s so big he sees over it. A guy comes at him kind of out of position on the double team, he draws a foul. Put a big on him, he can get by you to the basket. Put a small, he’s backing down on him. He just can do it all. He’s one of those guys whose IQ is extremely high and his skill-set matches that. That’s why I think he’s so great… He’s just one of those generational talents.”

It remains to be seen how the Dallas Mavericks will do for the rest of this season. They did manage to make the Western Conference Finals last season using a heliocentric offense around Luka Doncic. However, it is clear that this style of play won’t necessarily help them win a championship, as no player wins without an elite co-star.

Hopefully, we see the Dallas Mavericks surround Luka Doncic with a better squad in the future. A player with his talent should not be in a position to play in the play-in tournament, and it is clear that he needs some offensive help to win at the highest level.
