LeBron James broke the all-time scoring record on Tuesday in what was a special occasion, but he hasn’t been able to get on the court since. LeBron sat out for the game against the Milwaukee Bucks and then was ruled out for their contest with the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.

There was a really concerning injury update on James that came out, which explains his absence, but fans at the arena would have been disappointed to not get to see him in action. LeBron isn’t slowing down just yet, but the end isn’t too far away and you won’t get too many chances to watch him play. One lucky fan, though, got a once-in-a-lifetime experience of sorts.

A 12-year-old girl was seated next to the Lakers’ bench and LeBron ended up sitting right next to her. The youngster’s reaction to the moment she realized it was James has gone viral.

It was really quite adorable to see her reaction there. Any other kid in her position would have also been stunned to see James right next to them. It is a moment she won’t ever forget and she’ll have bragging rights in school for quite some time.

The Girl Was Interviewed After This Special Moment

While the moment was special indeed, ESPN decided to interview the girl not long after this, while she was still sitting next to LeBron. She was very excited and called it the best moment of her life.

"This is like the best moment of my life." ❤️ https://t.co/zNbebfYMuY pic.twitter.com/9wPK7RZtqt

“So, I asked for these tickets over 3 months ago because I was so excited I really was hoping LeBron would break the record at this game and even once he broke it, I was like, ‘Oh my god, congratulations.’ and I was so excited to come to this game.”

“When I heard he had a foot injury, I was sad and we didn’t know if he was traveling with the team or not, and then when he ended up sitting down here, I’m not as tall as him obviously so I can only see like his shoe and then I look up and I see LeBron James and what’s going through my mind is just like ‘Oh my god, the greatest player of all time in basketball is sitting next to me.’ and I just freak out completely. I’m just thinking this is like the best moment of my life.”

Not a bad consolation prize for not getting to see him break the record! The decision to interview her with LeBron right next to them was a bit weird though and James completely ignored them while it was going on. It was a bit awkward and maybe they should have waited till half-time or after the game ended.

As for the game itself, the Lakers won 109-103 as Dennis Schroder led the way with 26 points. Anthony Davis struggled offensively but he made some key defensive plays as the Lakers improved to 26-31 in this 2022-23 NBA season.
