Zach Lowe Compared Giannis Antetokounmpo Championship Version To AD Rather Than To LeBron

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s ability to win with the Milwaukee Bucks has been the subject of plenty of criticism for the past two NBA seasons. The Greek player has been under big pressure to take his team to the promised land despite being only 26 but the Bucks are apparently working on new strategies to put him in the best position to win a championship.

Antetokounmpo has seen how the Brooklyn Nets and perhaps the Philadelphia 76ers have stolen the attention from him and the Milwaukee Bucks this season and that could be a good thing for him. The current NBA MVP is going through some changes in his game that could be very beneficial for him and his team. Reddit user “xyneid” caught some words from Zach Lowe on his podcast, where he explains that Giannis can be more of an Anthony Davis rather than a LeBron James for his team if he wants to win in Milwaukee.

“Giannis last night set 36 ball screens. His previous high in any game for the last two seasons combined was 24. I think actualized championship-version of Giannis is closer to AD than to LeBron,” Lowe said at the 22:30 mark of the podcast.

Giannis has been trying to win with his team in his two MVP seasons but he hasn’t found success so far. This season he has a better team after a moved offseason so this window is still open for the Greek Freak. He’s one of the best players in the league but something must change for him to unlock his best version and take his squad to the Finals and win the trophy.

The season is young and the Bucks are already 2nd in the East so Giannis might be finding his touch right now. What Lowe presents is very interesting; he is known for his ability to finish at the rim, dunk the ball and go over any opponent that tries to stop him.

Perhaps he needs his LeBron, Kobe Bryant, or Chris Paul to unlock all his power. Jrue Holiday is the Bucks’ point guard this season so this possibility is really big right now.
