Giannis Antetokounmpo has praised LeBron James for his longevity, as the King remains one of the best players in the world despite being 35 and playing his 17th season in the NBA.

The MVP race is on and Giannis and LeBron are considered two of the best candidates to take the prize home. Antetokounmpo took some time after Wednesday’s victory over the Indiana Pacers to discuss what his fellow MVP-candidate is managing to accomplish.

“It’s amazing,” Giannis told reporters. “… Thirty-five and playing at a high level. … He just leads the path for us. A lot of times we think that ‘Ok, we’re going to retire at 35,’ but seeing a guy at 35, being still top-three best player in the world, that makes us want to be there.”

In his 17th year in the NBA, James is averaging 25.4 points, 10.7 assists, and 7.8 rebounds while leading the Los Angeles Lakers to the top of the Western Conference. And age doesn’t seem to be a problem for James.

You can say playing alongside Anthony Davis surely helps Bron, but the King is still showing he has a lot in the tank and he won’t stop anytime soon.

At an age when most professional athletes are finishing their careers, James is still at the top, inspiring the new generations, like Giannis.

“It makes me want to be there one day,” Giannis said. “I keep taking care of my body, eating the right way, being healthy. He paved the way. Hopefully we can follow.”

Besides being great for his team, Bron serves as a mentor for the new generations. And he’s doing that while competing against them. He’s definitely one of the greatest of all time.

The Lakers and Bucks will face each other this Friday, in one of the most anticipated matches of the season.
