NBA Rumors: Devin Booker Would Be The Perfect Fit With Ben Simmons And Joel Embiid

Nowadays, it seems like we’re so busy talking about 90s basketball, we forget what’s happening in today’s game. With the league in early stages of a return, a comeback for NBA basketball could be closer than you think.

While we await an official start date, the NBA rumor-mill has been increasingly active — with one of the latest rumblings involving Phoenix Suns star, Devin Booker.

In a recent article by Paul Hudrick of NBC Sports Philadelphia, he floats the idea of a potential pairing between Devin Booker and Philadelphia co-stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

There may not be a player that would be a better fit in the entire NBA with Simmons and Embiid than Booker. The Sixers desperately need shot creators and shot makers. Booker checks both boxes at an elite level.

Both teams need some sort of shake-up, and this move has the makings to solve a lot of problems. Obviously, for Philly, it would bring in a third star that would raise their ceiling 10-fold. The fact that he can shoot and does everything Embiid and Simmons can’t makes this trade ideal for the Sixers.

In return, the Suns could ask for a guy like Tobias Harris — an All-Star caliber NBA veteran who can put the ball in the hoop. With Harris (and a few draft picks), the Suns would essentially be handing the franchise over to DeAndre Ayton.

Booker is just 23 years old, perfectly fitting the timeline of the Sixers’ All-Star duo. The Sixers have two contracts that could help facilitate the deal in Tobias Harris or Al Horford.

While Hudrick made sure to note the improbability of such a deal actually happening, it wouldn’t be fair to disregard it completely. As the Suns get more desperate for success, they may do whatever they think it takes to turn things around.

A Booker trade may be far down on the list, but it’s on there nonetheless.
