Sheriff Challenges LeBron James To Offer $175,000 Reward For Shooter Of L.A. County Officers

2 Min Read

LeBron James has been among the biggest advocates for the Black Lives Matter movement — making statements, demanding action from league owners, and giving back to the community.

With all the social tension going on in America today, James has put himself in the center of the spotlight of discussions, whether for better or worse.

And now, with his name tied to the BLM movement, Law Enforcement is calling for his support as well.

On Saturday, two L.A. County officers were shot at a local radio outlet. They both would go on to survive, but not before being hospitalized for serious injuries.

“Moments ago, 2 of our Sheriff Deputies were shot in Compton and were transported to a local hospital,” the LASD announced in a statement. “They are both still fighting for their lives, so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. We will update this thread with information as it becomes available.”

With the manhunt for the shooter still ongoing, L.A. County Sheriff Alex Villanueva challenged LeBron James to match the current $175,000 reward for information.

James has yet to respond and no word yet has been passed on if he plans to respond or accept the challenge given him.

But, considering how involved Bron was in showing support for Jacob Blake and his family, it would certainly disappoint some fans to see hear nothing but silence on this particular situation.

Still, no matter what he does (or doesn’t do), let’s hope justice prevails and the shooter is stopped before he puts any more lives in danger.
