The Proof That LeBron James Is More Clutch Than Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving got himself in trouble once again after making some questionable remarks about the teammates he played with throughout his career. The biggest issue of all is that he seemingly took a shot at LeBron James during a recent interview on Kevin Durant’s new podcast ‘The ETCs.’

According to Irving, playing with KD will finally release some pressure off his shoulders, as he believes this is the first time he can rely on another player to take the last shot.

“This is the first time in my career where I can be like “that motherf***** can make that shot, too,” Irving explained.

Reactions didn’t take too long, with most people showing their support to LeBron while attacking Kyrie for his words. Nick Wright, one of the biggest LeBron James defenders in the media, didn’t miss the chance to make the case for LeBron as the most clutch player in the league and bashed Kyrie for his comments. During Friday’s edition of FS1’s ‘First Thing First,’ a graphic showed how Bron and Irving have fared with tie or take lead shots in the last 2 minutes of the 4Q and the difference was huge.

Tie or take lead in final 2 min of 4Q/OT (playoff career):
LeBron: 30-66 FG, 45.5 FG Pct, 9-19 3P FG, 47.4 3P Pct
Kyrie: 2-7 FG, 28.6 FG Pct, 1-3 3P FG, 33.3 3P Pct

Obviously, Wright was fuming and taking jabs at Kyrie, saying he was just one guy who had made two clutch shots in his career while LeBron was used to doing that, becoming one of the greatest at it.

“It’s obviously no contest. You have 1 who is the greatest ever at it & 1 who has made 2 shots,” Wright said.

This probably won’t be the last time we hear about this issue. Just when everybody was focused on the Finals and the closure of the league, Kyrie showed up and made this whole thing. Kendrick Perkins, Skip Bayless and Chris Broussard among others reacted to these comments, with some agreeing and others attacking Kyrie for making such a bold statement.
