2021 Playoffs Could Be The Worst Postseason In NBA History

2 Min Read

The NBA playoffs are usually the best time of year for basketball fans. To watch the best and the top teams compete against each other for the ultimate prize is always going to come with a certain level of excitement.

Unfortunately, the 2021 playoffs have been a different story.

In the first round alone, Jaylen Brown, Jamal Murray, and Anthony Davis all missed significant time, and more stars kept dropping as the playoffs progressed.

Following another string of injuries (Trae Young and Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Conference Finals), NBA fans couldn’t help but feel robbed by this postseason, with some even going so far as to call it the worst in league history.

On one hand, it’s cool to watch some of the underdogs succeed, and has been fun trying to guess who will come out on top.

But there is a sense that things would be completely different had players stayed healthy this year.

Instead of watching the best of the best compete, we’re having to watch less talented (but admittedly equally driven) role-players step up to take their place.

At this point, Paul George is the only star left in these playoffs who has remained healthy throughout the entire process.

Let’s hope for better health next year…
