Superstar players often make a ton of All-Star Teams. That is the case with all the greatest players in NBA history including Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Tim Duncan. Becoming an All-Star is the very first step of being a great player after all. That is why Kareem has 19 All-Star appearances, Kobe Bryant has 18, LeBron James has 16, Tim Duncan has 15, and Michael Jordan has 14.

But there are some active players in the league who have multiple consecutive All-Star Team selections. While there is, unsurprisingly, a certain King who has the most selections, the others might in fact surprise you. Here are the players with the most consecutive All-Star Team selections in the NBA right now.

9. Joel Embiid – 3 Consecutive All-Star Selections

Streak Ends In 2021: No

Joel-Embiid

Joel Embiid has made 3-straight All-Star Selections, averaging 22.9 PPG, 27.5 PPG, and 23.0 PPG in succession. Embiid is off to a great start this season by putting up 28.3 PPG, and it is highly likely that the Sixers superstar is making his 4th straight All-Star Team and possibly winning the MVP by the end of this season.

8. Damian Lillard – 3 Consecutive All-Star Selections

Streak Ends In 2021: No

Damian Lillard Says He's Not Playing In The Olympics If The Trail Blazers Makes The NBA Finals

Damian Lillard has put Portland on the map the past few seasons and has made case for himself as the best point guard in the NBA. Lillard has made a total of 5 All-Star Teams over his career, but he was not an All-Star in 2016 and 2017 which reduces his streak to 3. Lillard has averaged 26.9 PPG, 25.8 PPG, and 30.0 PPG over the past 3 selections, and he will very likely make a 4th straight as he is averaging 29.6 PPG this season.

7. Kemba Walker – 4 Consecutive All-Star Selections

Streak Ends In 2021: Yes

Kemba Walker has done an impressive job in the NBA so far. Kemba has made 4 straight All-Star Teams in his career, 3 with Charlotte and one with Boston. Walker has averaged 23.2 PPG, 22.1 PPG, 25.6 PPG, and 20.4 PPG over the past 4 years but he will likely not continue that pace this season. Walker has only played 6 games this season and is averaging 14.3 PPG, so his streak likely comes to an end this season.

6. Giannis Antetokounmpo – 4 Consecutive All-Star Selections

Streak Ends In 2021: No

The Greek Freak should be making every All-Star Team every year for the foreseeable future. Giannis has 4 in a row, and it will be 5. Giannis made his first All-Star Game in his 4th NBA season after he took his average from 16.9 PPG to 22.9 PPG. Of course, he also won the Most Improved Player Award that season. Giannis has won the last 2 MVP Awards in the league and will most likely be in the MVP running in 2021 by making his 5th All-Star Team in which he will start.

5. Russell Westbrook – 6 Consecutive All-Star Selections

Streak Ends In 2021: Yes

Russell Westbrook receives a lot of criticism, but he has been one of the most consistent superstars in the NBA over the past decade. Westbrook has made the All-Star Team from 2015-2020, but that will likely come to an end in 2021. Westbrook won an MVP and 2 scoring titles during that period, but his stats of 20.9 PPG and 9.5 APG might not be enough to make the Eastern Conference All-Star Team as the Wizards hold a 4-12 record.

4. Kyle Lowry – 6 Consecutive All-Star Selections

Streak Ends In 2021: Yes

Kyle Lowry

Kyle Lowry has quietly been one of the most consistent players in the league. He has made an incredible 6 straight All-Star Teams with the Toronto Raptors, and in that period he made the 2016 All-NBA Team and also won the 2019 NBA title. But that run will likely come to an end this season because the Raptors have been very poor and Lowry’s stats don’t match up with the best guards in the East. Lowry’s “worst” season came in 2019 where he averaged 14.2 PPG and 8.7 APG, but of course, he was on the championship team. The streak will end this season.

3. Anthony Davis – 7 Consecutive All-Star Selections

Streak Ends In 2021: No

(via DraftKings Nation)

Anthony Davis is one of the top five players in the world, and his 7 consecutive All-Star Teams is a testament to that. Davis has been an All-Star since his second season in the NBA, which was also his worst All-Star season (20.8 PPG), as he has averaged over 24.3 PPG for 7 years after that. Anthony Davis is an NBA champion and he will be an 8-time All-Star this season with the Lakers. Davis is currently putting up 22.2 PPG, 9.1 RPG in 32.9 MPG this season, so he is likely a threat to start for the West as well. As long as Davis stays healthy, he is a shoe-in for All-Star Games for the foreseeable future.

2. James Harden – 8 Consecutive All-Star Selections

Streak Ends In 2021: No

James Harden, The Beard, is no longer a Houston Rocket and that means his numbers are going to suffer slightly. He is arguably a #3 option with the Nets since he will be playing point guard, and he has already had a few games where he scored under 20 points this season. But he is still the best shooting guard in the NBA and he has made 8 straight All-Star Teams as a member of the Rockets since his first season in Houston. It will be 9 this season with Brooklyn, and he is a step ahead of the rest of the league with this feat. Of course, Harden has won an MVP and 3 scoring titles as an All-Star for the past 8 years and his 24.5 PPG scoring average (lowest in 8 years) will still be enough to make him an Eastern Conference All-Star this year.

1. LeBron James – 16 Consecutive All-Star Selections

Streak Ends In 2021: No

LeBron James On Lacking A Killer Mentality: ‘There Are Different Ways Of Killing’

The player with the most consecutive All-Star Teams is LeBron James, The King. James has made an incredible 16 All-Star Team selections and that is the record for most All-Star Game starts after passing Kobe Bryant last year. James will make it 17 this year, and he will most probably never be surpassed with 17 starts. James has had a storybook career, winning 4 NBA titles and 4 NBA MVPs. There isn’t a better player in the league right now than LeBron James, and he once again is leading his team to the best record in his conference. LeBron James seems healthy enough to make another 2 or 3 more All-Star Games, and if he does, he is making an even bigger case why he might be the greatest NBA player of all-time.
