NBA Rumors: Miami Heat Reportedly Offered Goran Dragic, Kelly Olynyk And Kendrick Nunn For Kyle Lowry

As the 2021 trade deadline approaches, the Kyle Lowry saga continues and the point guard appears to get more and more attention every day he stays with the Toronto Raptors. Lowry is expected to leave the Toronto Raptors this season and plenty of teams have signed their names on the list of suitors for his services.

Besides the Los Angeles Clippers, other teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat have been linked with a move for the veteran and the latter actually tried to make a move for him, according to recent reports. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype revealed that the Heat offered a big package for the point guard but talks never came to fruition.

Miami has won nine of its last 10 games entering Sunday and looks like the team that reached the Finals last season. During this stretch, the Heat moved up to the fourth seed after beginning the season near the bottom of the East. In an attempt to return to that Finals stage, Miami has considered upgrades to the roster.

Miami expressed interest in acquiring Raptors six-time All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry and Goran Dragic, Kelly Olynyk and Kendrick Nunn were discussed, league sources told HoopsHype.

Despite turning 35 at the trade deadline, Lowry has played like an All-Star despite not being selected this season. Lowry is averaging 18 points on 45 percent shooting from the field, 40 percent from downtown, along with 7.2 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game. He’ll be among the top unrestricted free agent point guards this summer and has said he’d like to retire as a Raptor, even if it’s on a one-day contract.

The Heat are having a very sweet moment right now, improving their record in the last couple of months, ranking 4th in the Eastern Conference, trailing the ‘top 3’ teams, Sixers, Nets, and Bucks. The Floridians want to replicate and surpass what they did last season and it seems like they got things back on track now.

If they land Lowry, things would probably get a lot better for them but it’s unclear why the Raptors declined that offer. Kyle has become the greatest Raptor of all time and he’s shown his desire to retire with the Canadian team but right now, his future is out of Toronto.
