43-Year Old Dominique Wilkins Dunked On Actor Ashton Kutcher At The 2003 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

3 Min Read

The NBA All-Star Weekend is a massive celebration, a time during the middle of the season to celebrate the best talent that the league has to offer and allow the best players in the world to take their foot off the gas and have a little fun. This understandably draws huge interest, especially from other celebrities who want to spend time around the world’s best athletes and get to know them.

The NBA’s Celebrity All-Star Game boasts some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry as they aim to grab the attention of a larger demographic beyond hoops fans. They are interspersed with older legends of the game and sometimes the two produce moments that become quite iconic.

Something like this occurred in 2003 when Atlanta hosted the event. Film and television star Ashton Kutcher was participating and he found himself on the business end of an alley-oop dunk by none other than Dominique Wilkins. Wilkins is arguably the greatest Hawk ever, and even though he was 43 at that point, was able to get high enough to put the young Kutcher on a poster.

The game featured a classic matchup between Wilkins and Magic Johnson, who was on the other team, making it an incredibly exciting event. Even though they were both in their 40s, the two men enjoyed a fun duel on the court while also managing to give the crowd a great show.

Getting dunked on by Dominique Wilkins would be an honor for any fan of the game, he was a 2-time NBA Slam Dunk Competition winner. The 9-time All-Star never quite managed to get his hands on the championship but was chosen to be a part of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team. Kutcher will undoubtedly have many incredible stories from his time in Hollywood, but getting dunked on by Wilkins has got to be up there.
