Kevin Durant and Trae Young starred in an interesting moment during the last moments of the Brooklyn Nets-Atlanta Hawks duel on Friday night. It was an intense duel between them, and at some point, things got heated.

During the last two minutes of the game, KD and Trae got into it and exchanged a couple of words. It’s worth noting that Trae is 6’1″ and KD 6’11”, but that wasn’t a big issue for the Atlanta Hawks point guard, who stood up and fired back at Durant.

They had a heated exchange and were separated by teammates and referees before things got worse. Both players laughed and continued with the game, but things got tense for a couple of seconds.

The duel between these two was interesting all night long. KD couldn’t get away from Trae and used curious tactics to get under his skin.

However, after the game, Durant made it clear there’s no issue with Young, calling it just a competition thing. It was the heat of the game that led them to have that reaction.

“I was a little too physical there with that action and I kind of pushed him a bit. He wanted me to get up out of his space and I respect that. Just a part of the game. Nothing personal, it’s all competition.”

Moreover, he said he has the utmost respect for Trae and he’s known him since he was a kid.

“I’ve known Trae Young since he was 10 years old… That’s the spirit of the game. I got nothing but respect for Trae.”

It was just an in-game altercation but that was it. The players moved on and kept playing, with the Nets taking the win 115-103 at State Farm Arena. Young recorded a big game, posting 31 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists, but it wasn’t enough to beat the No. 1 seed in the East.

As for KD, he dropped 31 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists, taking the win against one of the dangerous teams in the conference.
