This may look exciting on paper, but you have to think twice about this move. For starters, it’s odd to hear about Doncic making these comments, which are reported by somebody close to the Sixers, not the Mavs. Moreover, both Doncic and Simmons constantly need the ball in their hands to make an impact on the game.
It’s unclear if they would fit in Dallas, especially if Simmons is willing to take a step back and work as Doncic’s sidekick. Earlier this week, Ben was linked with a move to Portland to join forces with Damian Lillard.
The Doncic-Simmons could be an interesting pair, but everything could fell apart soon if they don’t make things clear from the very beginning. Simmons is yet to return to the Sixers after his collapse in the 2021 NBA playoffs. If all these reports are to believe, he still has a big market, but time will tell how this situation unfolds.
