Shaquille O’Neal is a man of many titles. He’s a basketball legend, family fan, business owner, and even a DJ.

Speaking to Coco Dominguez on FOX26, ‘DJ Diesel’ went into some details about his side gig, explaining that he isn’t worried about being the best. He compared it to the NBA, dropping this little nugget of wisdom about what makes the league so special:

“What makes the NBA a great sport is not because of LeBron James. It’s because of LeBron, it’s because of Steph Curry. It’s because of all these people.”

Shaq has always been a favorite among the fans, and it’s clear why. He’s a fun-loving guy who wants to spread joy to everyone around him.

Of course, he has also changed many lives over the years, inspiring and teaching others many valuable lessons:

“My kids are older now. They kinda upset with me. They’re not really upset but they don’t understand. I tell them all the time we ain’t rich. I’m rich. No, you got to have bachelor’s or masters and then if you want to invest in one of your companies, you would have to present it to me and I’ll let you know. I’m not giving you nothing. The girls, I’ll take care of the girls, but the boys, they’re not getting nothing.”

In this case, his words about the NBA ring with truth. It’s just LeBron or Steph Curry that makes the NBA special. It’s not just one star or team.

It’s the collective unit and it’s the mixed experiences that make the NBA such an amazing product to watch. Every season, there are new storylines to play out and rivalries to behold.

This season is no different and, even amid all the chaos happening around the world, the NBA stands as a great unifier for sports fans.
