Andrew Wiggins has often been viewed in a negative light over the course of his career. He was the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, and he has not yet become a superstar, leading many to write him off.

Even though he hasn’t been the generational talent that many thought he’d be, Andrew Wiggins has become a fantastic two-way player. He is currently averaging 18.7 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 1.8 APG and is the No. 2 option on the Golden State Warriors, who are the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

As a result of Andrew Wiggins’ performances, many fans have stated that he should be an All-Star. It seems as though Andrew Wiggins has heard all the social media noise surrounding a potential All-Star selection. Wiggins has recently stated that he sees the talk but added that he has to “keep working” to achieve that goal.

Andrew Wiggins on hearing his name in NBA All-Star conversations: “You hear it. You see it. I just gotta keep working.”

There is no question that Andrew Wiggins has improved a lot from his days on the Minnesota Timberwolves, especially on the defensive end. Guarding the best player on the opposing team and providing around 19 points a game isn’t exactly an easy task, and Andrew Wiggins brings a lot of value to the Warriors.

It is quite possible that this is the year that Andrew Wiggins gets his first All-Star selection. He is having arguably the best year of his career, on a winning team. The Western Conference has a lot of elite small forwards, but Andrew Wiggins definitely has a legitimate argument to be an All-Star.

Team success is most important though, and Andrew Wiggins has previously alluded to as much. Wiggins claimed that the Warriors aren’t satisfied with just having the best record in the league, and it’s clear that he and the Warriors will try and keep improving as the season goes on. Many believe that they are the favorites for the 2021-22 NBA championship, and they have the talent on the roster to win it all.
