When the Golden State Warriors were ruling the NBA, Draymond Green played a vital role in the team as well. Yes, it is true that the likes of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson usually handled the scoring department. But when it comes to being the defensive anchor and a leader on the court, Green is simply great.
After the super team of the Warriors broke up in 2019, the team struggled for a while. With Steph and Klay sidelined due to injuries and KD starting the next chapter of his career with the Brooklyn Nets, the responsibility to lead the team fell upon Green’s shoulders.
Unsurprisingly, the Warriors struggled and Green received a lot of backlash for that. The three-time NBA champion recently released his own podcast, where he talked about it and more. Green revealed:
“During those times, a lot of f*****g people wrote us off. The dynasty’s over. Draymond’s washed, he can’t do this, he can’t do that, Steph Curry has no help, he can’t carry a team. You go down the list. You have to know the disrespect is unbelievable by the way Klay keeps speaking out on it. Klay doesn’t talk about any f*****g thing. Klay doesn’t even f*****g talk. Hey man, it’s a lot of basketball left to be played like I’m not gonna sit here and act like man we’re sitting in first place at game 60, it’s game 15.
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, what I do know is we have a damn good team and we will continue to grow, we will get Klay back, we will get Wiseman back and those are two more important pieces to what we’re trying to rebuild here and I think if we continue to work, we can give ourselves a real chance. And boy don’t let us win a f*****g championship because you gotta f*****g hear it from me.”
Green’s comments about himself and the Warriors were mostly loved by fans. But in the case of renowned rapper Drake, he hilariously trolled the Warriors forward.
“I think when they said you were washed they were just talking about your fits don’t trip,” Drake commented.

Drake and Green have had a great relationship over the years. So it was a simple troll between two friends.
In the past Green even defended Drake for his sideline antics, which makes it further obvious that the two like to mess with each other from time to time.
