After retiring from the NBA, each athlete has a different approach to life. While some tend to stay off the radar, some players love to stay in the spotlight. Charles Barkley certainly falls in the latter category. The NBA legend has been part of the NBA on TNT crew for several years now.

If there is anything that we have learned in that period, it is that Chuck has a knack for saying hilarious things from time to time. Be it taking part in a fun beef with Shaquille O’Neal about NBA rings or simply joining Ernie Johnson’s podcast.

Recently Chuck was part of Ernie’s podcast where he once again gave fans a hilarious reply to a pretty normal question.

Charles Barkley: “I have never sent an email.”

Tim Kiely: “You have sent an email.”

Ernie Johnson: “You have responded to emails.”

Charles Barkley: “I know how to respond. I don’t know how to do one. I don’t know how to initiate one. But I can respond, I will admit that… To all you idiots, fools, and jacka**es out there. It’s all right to talk bad about people. We all do it, but we don’t leave a paper trail. I talk bad about people the old-fashioned way, behind their back. I don’t put it in writing.”

Chuck is simply something else. In an era where emails are one of the most popular modes of communication, he just doesn’t believe in them. Well, at least he knows how to respond to them.

So it’s good news for all you Barkley fans if you were planning to write an email to him somehow. You might get a response from him. But don’t expect him to initiate a conversation, because that is not Barkley’s cup of tea.

As for talking bad about people, we will have to agree with Charles on this one. It is a simple yet great idea. So the next time you are planning to talk bad about someone, remember one thing: Never leave a paper trail. Instead, sit with your friends at a bar and do it while chugging down beers as Barkley suggested.
