Chris Paul had the run of his career last season during the NBA playoffs. Paul, who joined the Phoenix Suns in the offseason of 2020, led the Suns to the NBA Finals for the first time in almost 30 years.

CP3’s run was absolutely incredible. In the first round, he and the Suns beat his close friend LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Suns then swept reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. But the biggest test for Paul came in the Western Conference Finals, as he and the Suns faced the LA Clippers.

For Paul, he had to defeat the team that he had played with for 6 years in order to reach his first NBA Finals. During the series, tensions ran high, as several players on the LA Clippers had a tumultuous history with Paul, most notably, DeMarcus Cousins.

During Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals, CP3 and Cousins exchanged some unkind words. After the game, Cousins called out Chris Paul for their altercation. And it appears that Paul had some very harsh things to say about Cousins.

As reported by Landon Buford, Chris Paul called DeMarcus Cousins a ‘bum-a** ni**a’, and bragged about how his son had more money in his account than Cousins did. These words did not go down well with Cousins’ teammate Patrick Beverley, who shoved Paul, and was given a suspension.

While Patrick Beverley will be suspended for tonight's game for altercation with Chris Paul, @LandonBuford reported back in July that CP3 told DeMarcus Cousins: "You bum ass n**** that's why my son got more money in the bank than you'll ever have!"

Paul got under the skin of the Clippers while knocking them out to reach the NBA Finals. While the Suns couldn’t overcome Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, who recently received their NBA championship rings on opening night, their run did create a lot of hope and expectation for the future.

But the focus will now be on the future for the Phoenix Suns. Paul recently said after the Suns’ first game that no one remembers about them making the Finals, and they need to be able to do it again.

CP3 was a game-changer for the Suns. And going forward, the Suns will be looking to get back to the NBA Finals this season, in an attempt to avenge their loss and win their first NBA championship in franchise history.
