Skip Bayless Calls Out Scottie Pippen: “Without Michael Jordan, Pippen Would’ve Been Just Another Pretty Good Player Nobody Really Cares About. He’s Still Riding Jordan’s Coattails.”

The Last Dance documentary gave us a closer look at the Chicago Bulls dynasty during the 1990s. While Michael Jordan was the cornerstone for the dynasty, players like Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Steve Kerr, and many others had crucial roles in the team’s success.

The documentary is primarily about MJ, of course, it focused on him. This led to his second in command, Scottie Pippen a bit hasty. Soon Pippen’s book, ‘Unguarded’ will be released, and he has been promoting it rigorously.

However, during the promotions, Pippen has taken a few shots at Mike. He is very upset with Jordan for treating him and the other teammates in a bad way. Following this news, many took sides with Pippen and a lot more than that with Jordan.

NBA analyst Skip Bayless falls in the latter category. He publicly tweeted about it, saying Pippen would not be as great as he is if it weren’t for MJ.

“Scottie Pippen should thank his lucky stars every night that he got to play with The Greatest Player Ever In Any Sport. Without Michael Jordan, Pippen would’ve been just another pretty good player nobody really cares about. He’s STILL riding Jordan’s coattails.”

There is no doubt that Scottie Pippen was a skilled player during his day. He was the Robin to Mike’s Batman. But it appears that Pippen wanted more, and this has led to this apparent beef between the two superstars.

While what Skip tweeted might be true to some extent, it is not entirely true. Before Pippen rose to stardom for the Bulls, Jordan had never even made it out of the first round in the playoffs.

On the other hand, if it weren’t for Jordan, Pippen wouldn’t have won six NBA Championships. At the end of the day, both players were important to each other’s legacy in the league.

As far as the Last Dance documentary is concerned and MJ being portrayed as superior to other players, he was the face of the Bulls and the franchise. If the creators had gone any other way about it, the documentary might not have been as successful as it is today.
