Michael Jordan: “From A Competitive Standpoint, Golf Is The Hardest Game To Play”

Michael Jordan is a very competitive guy, it is not breaking news. During his playing career in the NBA, he had numerous altercations with his opponents due to his overly competitive side.

Apart from playing in the NBA, MJ is also a known Gold enthusiast. The Basketball Hall of Fame can be seen swinging a golf club from time to time. One reason why Mike loves golf is due to its competitive nature.

In a recent chat with Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, MJ elaborated on it. Of course, Curry, himself, is a golf lover, so the conversation was pretty interesting.

“I kind of got into golf mainly because from a competitive standpoint to me, it is the hardest game to play. I can always respond to an opponent, defensive guy, offensive guy whatever but in golf, it’s like playing in a mirror. You’re battling yourself consistently to try to get perfection. Every swing. Every putt.”

MJ continued, “For a competitive person like me, this is what keeps me sane because when I walk away from the game of basketball, that was enough to keep my competitive juices working. Now, when I don’t have that game, this game and it even drives me crazy then. I go fishing in between my golf because I got to show patience in fishing that’s going to be related to golf.”

While MJ might be retired from the league, he is still regarded as the GOAT of basketball. It is truly a testament to what he achieved during his career in the league.

On the other hand, Steph’s career is still going, but he has achieved almost everything any athlete could ask for.

In the interview, the two stars also shared their hatred for losing games. It’s quite understandable as both the players are incredibly competitive and always want to have their team’s name on the winning column.

Steph had a great individual season last year, but since the Warriors were missing Klay Thompson for the second consecutive season, the team failed to make an impact. Hopefully, this will change this season for them as Steph Curry will be hoping to further solidify his legacy in the league.
