NBA 2K Asked Michael Jordan To Pick His Perfect Team In 2013: Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, And Hakeem Olajuwon

Michael Jordan revolutionized the NBA in ways that he rarely ever gets the credit for. During his career, Jordan was a superstar the likes of which we had never seen before. Not just because of his immense talent, but also because of his mentality.

MJ was obsessed with winning. He never wanted to lose and did everything in his power in order to get the win. And many times, he would accept the responsibility of getting his team the win singlehandedly.

The scary thing for most NBA teams was that Jordan was fully capable of defeating a team by himself.

So much so that the Detroit Pistons formulated ‘Jordan Rules’ a style of play in which they would physically dominate Jordan in order to stop him. After a 59-point exhibition by Jordan, the Pistons created those tactics to stop him.

But even that didn’t work for too long, as Jordan was able to break ‘Jordan Rules’ and overcome the Pistons after years of being unable to. ‘His Airness’ was a mercurial athlete, capable of changing a game on his own.

So it comes as no shock that he was so successful without many All-Star players. In fact, Jordan won his first three NBA championships with only Scottie Pippen as an All-Star teammate.

But what if Jordan could pick his own team? One that would guarantee he never lost. NBA 2K asked him that question in 2013, as part of promotional work for NBA 2K14. Jordan gave 4 incredible names that would have made arguably the greatest team of all time.

Jordan mentioned Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, and Hakeem Olajuwon as the players he would pick for his own team.

When people look back at the teammates Jordan had, it truly puts into perspective how incredible he was. When one compares the number of hall of fame players that Michael Jordan and LeBron James have played with, they see that James has played with almost 3 times as many, but has not been as successful as MJ.
