NBA 2K22 looks closer every day as we discover more details about the upcoming new installment of the basketball simulator.
The company has recently announced a couple of ratings, showing how high or low our favorite players got after the 2020/21 NBA season. First, they announced Luka Doncic’s rating, which is a 94 for the Dallas Mavericks star.

Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry have a 96 OVR rating, probably being two of the best five players on the video game this year. Fans reacted to these ratings, showing their disagreement with these decisions, explaining why these players deserve more and others should get less.
First Look at KD & he gets a 96 OVR 👀

Deserved. He was not a 99 or a 98 level this entire season if you know ball. So please let’s focus on gameplay

I’m sorry 98 he won the ring this year? No what’s so deserving of a 98? He lost to giannis and giannis should be the only 98 in the game rn I’ll give it to ya that he should be a 97 him and bron but still neither of them got a chip this year Rn giannis deserves that best spot

Hell no wtf on god if James a 97 or 98 I’m not buying this game again update this please it’s the same overall as last year . You telling me this curry won a scoring title and beat Will record and carry his team is not a 97 or 98 is crazy. Curry don’t look like that now that 2k20

Moreover, the Milwaukee Bucks Big 3 of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday also received their rating. The Greek Freak got a 96, Middleton 88, and Holiday 85. Of course, this also raised some eyebrows around the league, with people calling 2K out for the disrespect.
wtf are these? no gameplay, shit ratings that make no sense, Giannis only a 96??? both Jrue and Khris should be around 90
— 34-0 💔 (@BillyZambidis) August 18, 2021

— (W)adgePlug🔌 (@BADGEPLUG) August 18, 2021

Nikola Jokic also saw his rating unveiled, getting a 95 OVR. According to fans, this is low for a reigning NBA MVP, again blasting the game over this.

Even though some people could say that the 2K community is toxic, it doesn’t look like the developers are doing much to improve the experience. Every year they receive a lot of criticism. More fans on social media show their disappointment with the new versions of the game.
Seeing these ratings, it’s fair to say that things didn’t start the best way for NBA 2K22. Fans are still waiting to see gameplay, but nobody is talking about that.
