Joel Embiid Has Reached Out To Ben Simmons Several Times But He Didn’t Respond, Says NBA Insider

There have been many reports about Ben Simmons potentially getting traded from the Philadelphia 76ers. It is clear that Ben Simmons could use a new franchise where he can thrive, after the events that happened during the series against the Atlanta Hawks. Perhaps can achieve his potential elsewhere, but it seems as though that won’t happen in Philadelphia.

The possibility of the Philadelphia 76ers running it back seemed slim, but it looks almost impossible after the most recent development. Jason Dumas has recently reported that Ben Simmons has ignored Joel Embiid’s attempts to reach out this offseason and that Embiid has tried multiple times to do so.

Jason Dumas on Ben Simmons: "He's open to the California teams is what I've been told. Joel Embiid has reached out to him several times since the end of the season. He hasn't returned Joel Embiid's calls … he doesn't want to return to the 76ers. Damage has been done." https://t.co/CJhQ1YACFA

He’s open to the California teams is what I’ve been told. Joel Embiid has reached out to him several times since the end of the season. He hasn’t returned Joel Embiid’s calls … he doesn’t want to return to the 76ers. Damage has been done.

It is clear that Ben Simmons is not a fan of the possibility that he may be returning to Philadelphia, even ignoring franchise superstar Joel Embiid’s attempts at communication. A prior report suggested that Ben Simmons has also cut off all communications with the 76ers organization, preferring to go about his business through his agent, Rich Paul. The same report suggested that Simmons would be willing to joining the Golden State Warriors, though he doesn’t exactly have a lot of leverage in the matter.

Of course, it will take some time for a deal to materialize, and the 76ers obviously haven’t found a suitable deal yet for their former franchise centerpiece. It remains to be seen how long the 76ers will hold out for the right offer. The 76ers are looking for a win-now move, that could help Joel Embiid compete currently. Perhaps the 76ers will find what they’re looking for in a Ben Simmons trade sooner rather than later.
