Skip Bayless Says LeBron James Wants To Show Kevin Durant That He Can Win With Russell Westbrook: “He Will Regret Letting Russ Be His Point Guard. Too Ball-Dominant”

Russell Westbrook is the newest member of the Los Angeles Lakers. Last night, the Lakers executed a trade with the Washington Wizards that sent a bunch of their players like Kyle Kuzma, KCP, and Montrezl Harrell, along with their 2021 Draft pick to Washington. Westbrook will join LeBron James and Anthony Davis to form a big three in LA as they go back in the hunt for an NBA Championship.

This move will allow the Lakers to go toe-to-toe with the Brooklyn Nets and their own big three of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving. Westbrook is very familiar with Durant, as the two played together during their time in OKC, and even reached an NBA Finals, only to be defeated by LeBron James, who will be Westbrook’s teammate next season.

And Skip Bayless believes that it is no coincidence that LeBron selected Westbrook to form his big three. Bayless took to Twitter to react to the Westbrook trade, and obviously had a negative opinion on this. He believes that LeBron allowed Westbrook to come to LA because he wants to prove to the world that he can win an NBA championship with Westbrook as a teammate.

This is because Westbrook and Durant were never able to do the same when they were teammates together, and it was famously one of the reasons for Durant signing with the Golden State Warriors.

“LeBron knows full well Kevin Durant, Best Player on the Planet, decided he couldn’t win a championship w Russell Westbrook as his primary decision-maker. Now LeBron obviously wants to say, “Watch ME win w Russ.” He WILL REGRET letting Russ be his point guard. Too ball-dominant.”

“No. No, no, no, no, no LeBron. You just blew it. Russell Westbrook no more fits with you than I would fit with you. This will turn into a desperate disaster. I know you want to show the NBA world you can win with Russ when KD failed to. Not happening. You will come to regret signing off on this deal. You will come to see your Lakers, tonight, just got worse.”

Bayless has been very critical of LeBron throughout his career. And this trade has been yet another opportunity for him to dismiss LeBron James, albeit off the court. Bayless brought up some solid points, but the way he presented it is what has upset a lot of LeBron and Laker fans.
