Spurs star DeMar DeRozan has been mostly keeping to himself this summer. As a C-tier star in a relatively small market, it isn’t often that he takes over the headlines of the NBA media.
But lately, his name has surfaced in a number of trade rumors, mostly relating to the Los Angeles Lakers, who are reportedly looking for some reinforcements after a subpar finish.
Today, DeRozan responded to all the noise, posting a cryptic, one-character Tweet that has only led to more speculation.

So what does it mean? Are we to believe that the rumors are completely false, and he’s just sitting behind his laptop enjoying the show?
Or is there some merit to the claims?
DeRozan has been linked to the Lakers for years now, mostly due to the fact that he grew up as a Lakers fan in Compton, California.
At 31-years-old, DeRozan has not yet won a title or even made a single Finals appearance. This lack of winning has led many to believe he could be open to a fresh start somewhere else.
The Lakers, who are looking for a third piece to put alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, seem like an ideal fit and they’re expected to be very active in their pursuit of talent this summer.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to really tell whether or not the trade rumors are anything more than noise. We’ll just have to wait and see how things play out.
In the meantime, DeMar will continue watching as fans continue to speculate about his future.
