After a first-round exit in the 2021 playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers have a lot of work to do this upcoming offseason.

Despite being very limited in what they can do, the team has to shake up their roster if they want any hope of re-claiming their throne.

Fortunately, as Lakers VP Rob Pelinka told Silver Screen and Roll, LeBron James and Anthony Davis will have a prominent role in the process.

“I think when it comes to roster building, you guys know we’ve been very collaborative. Anthony Davis and LeBron James are championship pillars of this franchise for years to come and of course, they’re going to be involved in how we build our roster and how we have built our roster. (They are) both great basketball minds, and Frank (Vogel) as well.”

It should really be no surprise that Bron and AD have a voice in the front office. As their two best players, the Lakers have to keep them involved and happy.

The question is, can they come up with a reasonable solution? With not a whole lot of cap space to work with and not a ton of tradeable assets, it won’t be easy to try and re-tool.

But if anybody can do it, it’s LeBron and the Lakers.
