Steve Kerr On Steph Curry: “He’s Reminding Me Of Michael Jordan In That You Just Get So Used To The Brilliance And The Excellence.”

As one of MJ’s former teammates, Warriors coach Steve Kerr is especially qualified to draw up comparisons between him and some of today’s biggest stars.

Most recently, Kerr mentioned Jordan in connection to Steph Curry, in that their constant show of greatness has become routine for fans all around the world:

“He’s reminding me of MJ in that you just get so used to the brilliance and the excellence, it sort of blends in with everything else,” Kerr said, via ESPN. “It just becomes routine. It’s insane to say that because what you’re watching is otherworldly, and yet you sort of begin to expect it. That’s probably the purest sign of greatness.”

For years now, Curry has been lighting up the league in miraculous ways, often to the amazement of spectators and commentators.

With countless records broken, and a career average of 24.1 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game on 43% shooting from downtown, Steph is a guy who always brings his best. He’s a guy that the Warriors have consistently leaned on for the better part of a decade now and, even now, he continues to be at the top of his game.

While MJ was obviously different in many ways, he and Curry share a certain level of consistency very few players have ever been able to maintain.

Despite the amazing things Steph has been doing, it has become normal for the fans, who are probably taking it for granted.

It’s the mark of true greatness, and Kerr has definitely taken notice.
