NBA Legend Julius Erving Believes The 76ers Will Beat The Nets In 2021 Playoffs: “I’m Betting My Money On Philly…”

With three NBA superstars, and at least 5 players who are, or have been, All-Stars, the Brooklyn Nets are clearly the NBA’s deepest and most talented team.

And while they are favored by most to win the title, Sixers legend Julius Erving says they’ll lose to another Eastern Conference powerhouse.

“I’m betting my money on Philly,” Erving said. “… Ws mean confidence. It’s not cool to be overconfident, but it’s very cool to be confident. So you need to maintain that confidence and get out there and perform, that’s the way I see it.”

Erving is, obviously, a bit biased here, as he played 11 seasons for the Sixers during his run in the league. Still, he backed up his bold claim with some valid reasoning…

“The Sixers have an advantage coaching-wise based on experience with [head coach Doc Rivers], in terms of championship experience that [Green has], that Dwight [Howard] has,” Julius Erving said. “And the ambition of Ben [Simmons] and Joel [Embiid], these guys are hungry now, they’ve been a part of what they call ‘The Process’ for several years, and it’s time for The Process to bear some fruit.”

While the Nets do have some guys who have won a title in the past (Kyrie and Durant), the Sixers have the advantage of having been together for years. They have a lot of chemistry and have added some guys, including head coach Doc Rivers, who have experience winning a Championship.

If you combine that chemistry with the experience, and it’s not hard to see why the Sixers might be ready to upset their rivals in New York.

So far this season, they’ve gotten off to a pretty solid start.
