Kendrick Perkins Floats The Idea Of Stephen Curry Joining The Lakers: “Anything Can Happen When It Comes To The NBA”

Ever since he retired from the NBA and became an analyst, Kendrick Perkins has had his fair share of infamous and hot takes. He’s been right more times than his haters would like to agree but he’s also made some bold statements that just can’t go unnoticed.

His most recent, however, could be the boldest of all time. He went as far as to say that he wouldn’t rule out the possibility of Stephen Curry joining LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers unless the Golden State Warriors make some big trades right now:

“Maybe they could trade Andrew Wiggins and get back Victor Oladipo to show Steph they’re going to surround him and – they’re going to get better not just for this year but for next year so that he can’t sign his contract this offseason season. You can’t lock him in because, with Steph not signing his contract extension – yes, I get it – he’s gonna get more money but there’s no guarantee. And we saw all the joy we saw the laughter in the All-Star Game between him and LeBron James. Fist-bumping and high-fiving. Hey, look. I’m telling you, I’m just saying. Anything can happen when it comes to the NBA,” Perk said on ESPN’s The Jump.

Curry’s contract will run out at the end of the 2021-22 season so, technically, he could indeed join LeBron James and wear the purple and gold.

However, the chances of him ever leaving the Bay, let alone teaming up with his biggest rival just to win another ring seem pretty slim right now.

Curry has built a legacy of his own and it’s not like he needs another ring to make the Hall of Fame or something like that. Also, it’s been known that he, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green hold a close friendship and look forward to finishing their careers together. But hey, we’ll have to wait and see.
