The situation in Washington has taken a turn for the worst. As Bradley Beal trade rumors ramp up, they continue to lose games — and some against mediocre and lottery-bound teams.
Following their most recent loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, Beal flat-out admitted that the situation was pretty bad in the locker room, citing a lack of “laughter” and “chatter” from the crew.
“We just kinda let teams walk over us, and that shit is frustrating. … So yeah, we just move onto Chicago.
There’s no laughter. There’s no chatter. Nobody’s happy. I guess the only positive is that it seems like we care, but we gotta carry it over to the floor.”

Entering the 2021 season, there was a sense of optimism among the community that the Wizards would return to their status as a playoff team. In the weakened Eastern Conference, having two All-Star guards usually guarantees a top-8 spot.
Unfortunately, the Wizards aren’t much better than they were last season. Between Wetsbrook’s underwhelming performance and one of the NBA’s worst defenses, they haven’t been able to win consistently, and stand at just 5-15.
It remains to be seen how, and if, they can turn things around, but it’s clear that the current situation has everyone on the roster in a bad way, and it might be time for a change.
