LaMelo Ball has dazzled many people who have watched him play this season. Before the NBA, LaMelo Ball was already famous on the internet: people just didn’t know whether his talent would translate to the NBA level. There were many concerns with Ball before he was drafted, but he has landed in the perfect situation with the Charlotte Hornets. LaMelo Ball has seen his minutes steadily increase since the start of the season and has already shown that his vision makes him a wizard with the ball.

One of the people that is impressed with LaMelo Ball is teammate Gordon Hayward. Hayward has recently talked about LaMelo Ball in an interview with Sam Amick. Hayward had high praise for the young Hornets rookie.

Yeah, I think LaMelo is going to be really good in this league for a lot of years. He’s got great size. More than anything, he has great feel for the game. He’s kind of like — to me, he’s got that same type of feel as like (Dallas’) Luka (Doncic), as (Washington’s) Russ (Westbrook), where they just are around the ball and the ball kind of just comes to them. With rebounds and (being able) to make the right plays and always kind of being at that right position, to me he has that same type of feel and energy for the game. I think he’s gonna be really good.

Hayward is right in assessing that LaMelo Ball has an elite all-around game, and is in the right position to make plays all the time. LaMelo Ball’s strength on the court is always going to be his feel and knowledge of the game. He is confident enough to pass like a prime Steve Nash, and he doesn’t seem to be afraid of anybody on the court. His all-around game should flourish with more minutes, and LaMelo Ball seems like he will develop into one of the most elite point guards in the game.
