Jalen Rosen’s Assessment On The Lakers: “They Are On An Entirely Different Level Than Everybody Else”

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off making a huge statement last night. They beat the Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo on the road and look like the team to beat in the NBA right now.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis have only grown better together. They’ve added multiple pieces that make their roster even better than it was last year, and their confidence and chemistry make you think that there’s no way that any other team can keep them from a trip to the NBA Finals.

So, when asked about whether the Lakers were above the rest of the league right now, Jalen Rose took to ESPN to evaluate what he’s seen from the purple and gold thus far, going as far as to compare them to the reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs because of how stacked they are:

“Absolutely, and that’s kind of how I see the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL. If like, if you have to take them or the field, you wanna take the field because it has so many teams. And then, you realize that one team has Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and (Travis) Kelce, and then one NBA team has LeBron James, Anthony Davis, are the reigning World Champions; added Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell, still have Kyle Kuzma, KCP made 7 threes last night… you can go all and on about this Lakers roster they have, the experience that they have, the confidence that they have. So yes, the Clippers can be a big-time fold, the Utah Jazz, the Denver Nuggets. You know – there are so many other teams that are going to contend in the West but the Lakers are on an entirely different level than everybody else,” Rose said.

The thing about the Lakers is not only the fact that they’re the defending champions and that they are pretty deep. It’s also that LeBron James and Anthony Davis will continue to be the best duo in the league until further notice, even ahead of Kevin Durant and James Harden.

As of now, it doesn’t seem like there’s a team in the Western Conference that’s capable of taking the Lakers down in a seven-game series. So, barring injury, we might as well be watching The King again in the Finals a couple of months from now.
