The 2020/21 NBA season is still young but we’ve already witnessed some impressive performances from our favorite stars. Some have really made an impression in the eyes of plenty of fans and some of them have already picked their early candidates to win every major award in the NBA.

The most important of all is the MVP award and plenty of people have already identified their picks for the biggest award of all. One of those is Magic Johnson, who shared his top 5 selection for the coveted prize. True to his style, the Los Angeles legend took to Twitter to express his opinion, naming five players who have been playing great in the first part of the campaign.

“LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokić and Jaylen Brown are the top five MVP candidates right now,” Magic wrote on Wednesday.

Out of those five, Jaylen Brown is the most surprising name of all. He has been ballin’ for the Boston Celtics and he’s getting a lot of praise recently. Most people see him as the MIP award winner this year, but Magic went further, putting him on the list of MVP candidates.

LeBron James has been great for the Lakers again, leading them to the top of the Western Conference. Joel Embiid has done the same for the Philadelphia 76ers and taking them to the top of the East. Kevin Durant has been great for the Nets, showing he is the biggest star of the team and one of the best players in the league. Nikola Jokic is doing what Jamal Murray was expected to do this season and he hasn’t disappointed so it’s not a surprise he’s been part of these conversations.

The season is still young and a lot can happen from now until the end of the regular season. Magic picked five great players and seeing how things are now, one of those it’s going to win the MVP award at the end of this campaign.
