After three seasons with the LA Clippers, Montrezl Harrell is leaving them behind for a gig with their biggest rivals.
In a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, which dropped just moments ago, Trez has agreed to join the LA Lakers on a two-year deal.
Two years, $19M-plus for Harrell, Paul says. Lakers use mid-level exception on former Clippers center. https://t.co/LGgEkDaHN6

Of course, this speaks volumes not only about how attractive the Lakers are as a free agent destination but also about the state of the Clippers. If Trez was willing to switch sides for seemingly little financial obligation, it could be an indictment on the environment and culture that has developed in Clipperland.
Of course, nobody was shocked to see point guard Patrick Beverley respond to the news — and he did not seem pleased…

In the comments, many Clippers fans expressed similar feelings of betrayal.

Obviously, Trez burned a bridge there, and it will be interesting to see its impact once the season begins. At the very least, he’s helping feed one of the NBA’s biggest rivalries.
