NBA Rumors: Denver Nuggets Can Land Bradley Beal In A Blockbuster Deal

The Denver Nuggets were once again on the verge of making it to the NBA Finals but fell short of their goal, partly due to exhaustion, partly due to a great Los Angeles Lakers’ team, and partly because of the lack of a third scoring choice.

Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic are special. They have everything it takes to turn a franchise around. However, it seems like there aren’t many duos that could win in the stacked Western Conference, obviously taking Anthony Davis and LeBron James aside.

That’s why the Denver Nuggets must do whatever it takes to land a third star next to them as soon as possible, and Bradley Beal could be exactly what they need to finally go the distance and win the very first NBA Championship in franchise history.

Needless to say, they’d have to give up multiple valuable assets to make the Washington Wizards at least entertain the thought of trading away Bradley Beal. As of now, a trade package consisting of Michael Porter Jr, Gary Harris, Will Barton, and the 22nd pick seems reasonable, but why would the Wizards do it? Let’s break it down:

The Wizards’ Rebuild Must Start Now

Let’s be honest for a second. Bradley Beal and John Wall – who hasn’t played in a long time – can’t win an NBA Championship. Not alone. They’re both quite valuable and would draw enough value for them to finally embrace a full rebuild and look ahead to the future, assuming they trade Wall later in the season.

The Washington Wizards would have enough promising players in Rui Hachimura, Thomas Bryant, and Michael Porter Jr (plus the 9th and 22nd picks of this year’s Draft). Gary Harris is a great two-way player and it’s still young, but they could try and flip him next to Will Barton if they want to gather even more draft assets.

Even if it’s tough to part ways with your two franchise players, at the end of the day it would be for the best. They’d get their massive contracts and would allow their players to grow through their mistakes. If Michael Porter Jr stays healthy, he can become one of the biggest stars of the league.

Win-Now Mode

Jamal Murray On Nikola Jokic: “He’s Hitting Step Backs, Fading Away, Off One Leg, With A Hand In His Face, Consecutive Times. I’d Say He’s The Best Player In The World."

And, while it would be tough for the Denver Nuggets to part ways with a core piece like Gary Harris and a future star like Michael Porter Jr, adding a top-tier scorer like Bradley Beal next to Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic would make them one of the most dangerous teams in the Western Conference.

The Nuggets would have three great ball-handlers, three solid playmakers, and a three-headed monster capable of knocking down shots from all three levels. Also, they have enough spare parts to surround them with lockdown defenders.

Denver may not be favored against other powerhouses like the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, or Golden State Warriors but they’ve proven to be a hard-fighting, resilient team, and adding another huge threat like Beal would make them the ultimate dark horse.
