NBA Rumors: Sixers Interested In Trading For James Harden

2 Min Read

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Philadelphia 76ers are trying to pursue a trade for Rockets star James Harden.

“I’m told Philadelphia is expected to be interested in and pursue James Harden.”

Harden, a 3x Scoring Champ, is widely viewed as one of the best players in the game. In 11 years, he has averaged 25.2 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game on 44.3% shooting.

In all of his eight All-Star seasons with the Rockets, Harden has led them to the postseason.

But after yet another disappointing finish in 2020, questions have emerged about Houston’s fate moving forward. Has their Championship window closed? Do they have enough assets to make the necessary moves?

While it remains unlikely that the Rockets will trade their biggest star, it’s hard to dismiss the idea that they might consider it for a package including Simmons or Embiid.

In the end, it seems the Daryl Morey era in Philly is getting off to an ambitious start. With their eyes set on an All-NBA level player, it seems Morey is putting forth all the stops to turn things around for his new team.

It will be interesting to see what they are able to do this offseason.
