NBA Players Defend LeBron James’ Decision To Pass The Ball To Danny Green During Last Seconds Of Game 5

The last seconds of Game 5 of the NBA Finals was incredible. The Los Angeles Lakers missed a big chance to win the game when LeBron James decided to pass the ball to Danny Green, who was open, but Danny missed the shot, leaving the door open for the Heat to win the game. After the match finished, everybody had something to say about those last plays, where LeBron could have done a little more.

The NBA community reacted to those seconds, with some saying he did the right thing by passing the ball to Green and others believe he should have taken care of things and try to win the game all by himself.

Some players explained that it’s normal to miss shots and that LeBron made the right decision as Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.

No… he made the right play… but I woulda shot on both they ass ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ https://t.co/DlXw0UWShq

People miss shots all the time man . Donโ€™t do that . You talking about a guy who has hit big shots in finals with fans. On multiple occasions https://t.co/BwQ0D9JAfa

— CJ McCollum (@CJMcCollum) October 10, 2020

Nobody's fault. Great pass, great shot, just missed. Don't let the miss take away from giving the Heat their props though!!

That was a good pass to a WIDE open 3 point shooter…if yall say otherwise yall shouldnโ€™t be talking basketball

Former NBA player Jay Williams claimed LeBron had to take that shot instead of passing the ball and Kendrick Perkins replied as only he knows.

Yes Danny Green was open but I donโ€™t care what no one says… Bron needed to shoot that shot. PERIOD.

Of course, Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe had a couple of things to say about this, too, expressing different opinions on what LeBron should have done.

LeBron should've just gone ahead and powered up through Jimmy Butler, hoped to get fouled on the last shot. Instead, he made the "right play," kicked it back to wide-open Danny Green … who missed the three for the title. He's made some big ones. But it was LeBron's Night.

They had 3 guys on him and Green missed a wide open 3. Stop that madness https://t.co/C5fZ2aOoJh

This is the NBA Finals, people will always try to impose their opinion on what should have happened on the court. That play was very controversial and you see that not everybody was convinced the right decisions were made. In the end, the Heat won the game, 111-108 and we’ll have Game 6 on Sunday.
