With multiple season awards having already been announced, we all knew it was only a matter of time before the NBA’s All-Defensive teams were released.
First Team: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, Rudy Gobert, Marcus Smart, Ben Simmons
Second Team: Bam Adebayo, Patrick Beverley, Eric Bledsoe, Kawhi Leonard, Brook Lopez
In a tweet by Shams Charania, sent out just minutes ago, he reveals who made the cut as the league’s top 10 defenders.
2019-2020 NBA All-Defensive teams:
First team: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, Rudy Gobert, Marcus Smart, Ben Simmons
Second team: Bam Adebayo, Patrick Beverley, Eric Bledsoe, Kawhi Leonard, Brook Lopez

Names like Giannis, Davis, Gobert, Smart, and Simmons were pretty much automatic locks for the first-team. They have been dominant on defense all season long, and all of their names were in consideration for the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year.
The second team is where things get a little dicey. Kawhi, Bev, and Bam all deserve their spots, but fans were pretty surprised to see Brook Lopez and Eric Bledsoe make it over guys like Joel Embiid, LeBron James, and even Jimmy Butler. All-in-all though, it’s a good list and the players definitely earned their spot.
