Carmelo Anthony is one of the greatest players of all time, and one of the most recognizable stars in the league. Even close to the end of his career, Melo is one of the most dangerous offensive players in the NBA. That makes him a huge coup for the Los Angeles Lakers going into next season.

Anthony joins close friend LeBron James in LA, as the two players play together for the first time in their NBA careers. Melo has been open about his role with the Lakers, noting that he is ready to do whatever the team asks of him.

And so far, Melo has looked really good for the Lakers in the preseason, providing them with valuable scoring and three-point shooting from the bench.

One of Anthony’s most famous habits is his catchphrase. When he gets a rebound or is launching to get one, Anthony screams to his teammates “I got it, get the f*ck outta here”, in an effort to get the rest of his teammates moving quickly for a fast break.

Given the harsh nature of this catchphrase, the media always try to censor Anthony’s cursing but fail to do so. The NBA is considered family programming, and audiences don’t always appreciate hearing foul language during these games.

ESPN took a drastic step during the Los Angeles Lakers preseason game against the Phoenix Suns to try to censor Anthony. NBA analyst Rob Perez revealed that when Carmelo grabbed the rebound and screamed his catchphrase, ESPN cut the audio feed for the game for 3 seconds before bringing it back.

Carmelo Anthony's "I GOT IT, GET THE F**K OUTTA HERE" rebound was so loud right there ESPN had to kill the broadcast audio feed for three seconds.

Older fans may not see anything wrong with what Melo said. But given that young fans also watch, their parents would not want them to be exposed to this kind of language.

Regardless of this, Anthony had a fantastic game for the Los Angeles Lakers, scoring 17 points and making 5/7 three-pointers. If Anthony can replicate this kind of performance on a nightly basis, the Lakers will feel very good about having Melo on the bench going into the season.
