WNBA player Diamond DeShields got a huge backlash after making some sexist comments during the Nuggets-Jazz game on Monday afternoon. The Chicago Sky guard tried to make a joke after one of the worst sequences in the bubble but it backfired.
Jamal Murray missed a layup, Jordan Clarkson did the same on the other end, Millsap slipped and lost the ball, Donovan Mitchell missed a reverse, Jerami Grant air-balled a layup, Mitchell passed for a turnover, and Michael Porter Jr. failed the alley-oop finish. Of course, that is anything but normal and ESPN’s Mark Jones joked about it, saying, “it’s looking like LA Fitness at 3 o’clock right now.”
That’s when DeShields made her appearance to leave an awful comment.
“They all should quit and go get a job making sandwiches,” she wrote on Twitter.

This joke has been used to play down women trying to make a name for themselves not only in sports but in general. This was extremely sexists and fans were quick to call out DeShields for her comment.

Why do WNBA players always talk shit about NBA players when not a single NBA player has disrespected a WNBA player to this level https://t.co/sZSy9gWlWl

😂😂😂😂😂 WW3 would break out if an NBA player said this about a WNBA player. https://t.co/YZ37skPQty

She tried to explain everything, but it didn’t help, comments kept coming her way.
My previous tweets were pure sarcasm. I have nothing negative to TRULY say about this clip. I just hope folks use this as a reference when they come for us (women). 🙂 I’m prepared to get attacked regardless. I welcome the hypocrisy. https://t.co/lNn4TINQbn

NBA fans can be very supportive when somebody’s going through some hard moments, but they won’t miss to call you out and make you pay if you make some comments or act the wrong way. Diamond DeShields had to learn the hard way.
