J.R. Smith is no doubt grateful to have been given another chance and, for the first time since 2018, he will be competing for a Championship.
Unfortunately, the dude made a pretty bad mistake and it may cost him a couple of days of discomfort: he didn’t pack enough underwear and socks.
In a chat with Spectrum Sportsnet, he explained his predicament…

He says he only packed about seven, which would be enough for a normal person for about a week. Considering he and the Lakers will be in the bubble for at least a few months, that probably wasn’t the right call to begin with.
Of course, when you consider how many times pro-athletes shower (often 3 or 4 times per day), it makes the whole thing even worse. Seriously, what was he thinking? Maybe he had too much Hennessey again?
On a serious note, though, it’s an easily solvable problem for a multi-millionaire basketball player. He’ll likely have more delivered to him within the week.
But still, these are the kinds of stories we’ve been missing since J.R. was absent from the game. It’s good to have him back.
