Kyrie Irving is done with criticism and he sent a big message to haters doubting his passion for basketball. The Brooklyn Nets point guard has no chance to play at the bubble once the NBA returns and he’s put his attention on different topics, especially social justice.

During an Instagram live with his sister Asia, Irving talked about the new the two colorways for the Kyrie 6 that she designed. Kyrie didn’t miss the chance to talk about his passion for the game, sending a message to those who believe he has no desire to play basketball and win. Asia explained she was inspired by the empowerment of women, then his brother spoke about his basketball career.

“It’s about on the court, look at my resume, look at the classics, look at my art,” he says. “I created it for going on 10-plus years now. Don’t play with me. Don’t play with what I do on a day in and day out basis to provide and go out there and create.”

Irving is keen to bring justice to people who suffered some sort of racism in the past and especially women. The biggest name on Kyrie’s list is Breonna Taylor and he’s putting all his effort to find justice for her, even producing a show called #SayHerName: Breonna Taylor.

“It’s a very sensitive time and it’s very important to speak out on behalf of all our Black Queens,” Irving said, according to Heavy. “It’s my responsibility to be an acknowledgment of all the things that I can do to elevate what’s happening and how I can make change; whether that is utilizing my voice or whether if it is being there and being present. But it’s very important for me because I have a young daughter. She’s four years old and I’m raising her in this climate, in this society right now, and to hear news like this that is going on and females’ names are getting lost in the shuffle.”

He knows he can do a lot off the court, using his platform and he’s not missing that opportunity. He won’t return to the league until next season and now all his focus is on the seek of justice.
