LaVar Ball recently pumped brakes on the possibility of his son, LaMelo Ball, going to play with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA. He joined the “Say Less with Kaz” podcast last week, stating he wouldn’t be happy to see his son LaMelo being drafted by the Warriors.
“That’s the part I don’t like about Golden State,” LaVar said. “They got Klay and the other guys, and now you want to put Melo in that mix to say you got to follow these guys. Melo ain’t no follower. He don’t need to do what they do, let them do they thing.”
Melo is one of the best prospects in the 2020 NBA draft, so going to the Warriors (the team with the worst record in the league), is a big possibility for him.
Unlike his father, the youngest Ball brother doesn’t think that going to the Bay is a bad thing. In fact, he showed his disagreement with the statements in a now-deleted tweet.
“Yo chill,” he wrote replying to a tweet quoting one of our articles.
Some say Ball is pushing for Melo to go to the Knicks, but his son might have different plans for his NBA career.
